I have always had a strong passion for anything health related and animals.  My journey began when our first Golden, Kelsey started having chronic ear infections and hot spots.  I was always looking for alternative answers and healthier options for myself so why not her.  I did a ton of research and discovered a wonderful holistic vet, Dr. Sharon Kopinak, who immediately set me on a path of discovery and a love for alternative healing modalities.

 

Our second Golden, Scapa, was healthy and strong until one day she injured her stifle plowing through snow banks.  I was already feeding her a home cooked diet so once again hit the internet and bookstores doing research.  I came across massage therapy for dogs and immediately set about learning everything I could as well as taking courses to be certified as a massage therapist.  Although it was a great benefit to her I found I needed and wanted more.

 

Dr. Kopinak recommended Chiropractic care and referred me to Dr. Gloria Bracchetti,  Scapa loved her monthly visits and showed great improvement. During one of her treatments, Dr. Bracchetti mentioned Bowen Therapy.  Thank you, Gloria!  Once again I hit the internet and happened upon Debi Famelos' website and never looked back.  Becoming a certified Animal Bowen Therapist has been one of the most valuable experiences of my life and has opened a door of exploration in which I feel will never close.

My work as an Animal Bowen Practitioner can directly affect the health and mobility of an animal in many ways.  It has benefited Scapa and has helped her recover from her injury.  I have worked on horses, lizards, dogs, and cats.  I'm hoping in the future to have the opportunity to work on a variety of animals from rats to ferrets and all creatures in between!

I believe strongly in what I do and currently volunteer at the Lions Foundation, working on disqualified dogs as well as those that are healthy and continuing on their training path.  I am truly blessed to have discovered Bowen and I'm looking forward to my awe-inspiring journey!
