Why massage

my dog?

Massage can be gentle, non-invasive and help relieve the discomfort of old age and the pain and stiffness that accompanies degenerating conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplasia.   Stressed, anxious or newly adopted dogs can benefit from massage on an emotional level and help with depression, fear, trauma, grief, and separation anxiety.  Puppies can benefit from positive touch

Touch is vital for humans and animals.  Soft, soothing strokes warm and relax muscles.  Deeper manipulation works on specific injuries within the muscle and can be supported by hot and cold therapy.   Massage promotes comfort, bonding, self-worth and emotional well-being.

Canine Massage is a holistic, hands-on therapy that involves the manipulation of soft tissues to prevent and alleviate pain, muscle spasms and stress.   It is not meant to isolate a specific ailment, symptom or condition, but rather factors in the body as a whole.  Massage takes into account the animals lifestyle, emotional state and overall well being.  Often there is referred pain from an injury to another part of the body. By observing movement, physical symptoms and imbalances the Massage Therapist can help with not only the muscular
system but on all systems of the body.  helps enhance circulation and joint health in large breed puppies.  Regular massage around joints can accelerate the rate of healing in fast-growing bones.

Breeds with challenging respiratory genetics (Boxers, Bulldogs, etc.) can benefit from the effects of massage and enhance their ability to breathe.  It increases circulation to the respiratory system and lymph nodes which encourage the flow of white blood cells.  Massage can also play a critical role in rehabilitative therapy.  It helps release endorphin's and increases the circulation of blood, nutrients and oxygen to the tissues to help promote healing. Massage can also stimulate acupressure points which re-balance organs and energy throughout the body.
